Ann-Marie Phillips, Island Sol Collective

Ann Marie Phillips, Island Sol
Ann-Marie Phillips, a lifelong Carteret County local, has built a life and career rooted in the community she loves. As the co-owner of Island Sol Collective in Emerald Isle, she offers a wide range of wellness services — from yoga, pilates, and barre classes to kids’ yoga, guided meditations, and massages — all designed to help locals and visitors alike unwind on the Crystal Coast.

Tourism is at the heart of her business and her lifestyle. “Without tourism, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do and live where we live,” Ann-Marie shares. The steady flow of visitors allows Island Sol Collective to thrive, while loyal locals provide year-round support that keeps the doors open even in the quieter months.

The blend of community roots and visiting energy is what fuels the studio’s growth. Feeling confident in that momentum, Ann-Marie and her business partner expanded into a new yoga and wellness space in early 2025, a sign of the positive impact visitors bring to the island.

For Ann-Marie, tourism is more than economic — it’s personal. It allows her to live and work where she grew up, ride her bike to the studio, and share the beauty of the Crystal Coast with every client who steps onto the mat.
