Brittany Pittman, Beaufort Wine and Food
For the past 20 years, Beaufort Wine & Food has been bringing people together through unforgettable culinary experiences — all while giving back to the community. Led by Executive Director Brittany Pittman, the nonprofit has grown from a single weekend event to a full calendar of food and wine experiences that support local businesses and charities throughout Carteret County.

Since its founding in 2005 by local food and beverage industry leaders, Beaufort Wine & Food has donated over $1.3 million to local nonprofits, charities, and causes. What began as a small springtime event has evolved into a year-round series of gatherings — including winter events like Restaurant Week, which give local restaurants a welcome boost during the slower season.

Tourism plays a vital role in their success. About 40% of attendees come from out of town, booking accommodations and supporting small shops, restaurants, and the local economy. These visitors not only enjoy the events but also fuel the giving back that makes Beaufort Wine & Food such a unique community asset.

As Brittany shares, the impact goes beyond great meals and wine: “Our events bring people to Carteret County, help small businesses thrive, and give back to the community we love.”
