Krystal grew up along the Crystal Coast and returned after college, beginning her career in weddings more than 16 years ago. Fourteen of those years have been with Emerald Isle Realty, where she first assisted with rentals and linens for beach weddings. Wanting to see each celebration come to life, she moved into planning and coordination, joining Emerald Isle Realty full-time in 2011. A Seaside Wedding & Events soon followed, offering everything from intimate ceremony setups to full wedding management at stunning local venues.
Many couples choose the Crystal Coast because it holds personal meaning. “Most couples who exchange vows here have one partner who has been vacationing on the Crystal Coast their whole life,” Krystal says. “And while falling in love, they also fell in love with the beautiful beaches.”
Weddings held at vacation homes create a special connection between visitors and locals. “It gives both families the chance to spend the week together, blend, and truly celebrate the union,” Krystal explains. These extended stays highlight the area’s hospitality and turn a single day into a week-long coastal experience.
Tourism plays a major role in the strength of the wedding industry. Guests book accommodations, dine in local restaurants, explore attractions, shop locally, and support small businesses throughout their stay. “On a busy wedding weekend in Carteret County, there can be more than 20 large weddings happening at once,” Krystal notes. “With about 100 guests per wedding, that’s over 2,000 people contributing to our local economy in just a few days.”
Through her work, Krystal not only helps couples create unforgettable celebrations — she also supports the vibrant tourism economy that makes the Crystal Coast such a treasured destination for weddings.
