Rhiannon O’Meara, Thirsty Surfer

Rhiannon O'meara, Thirsty Surfer
Rhiannon O’Meara has called the Crystal Coast home her entire life. From working at a local surf shop as a teen to serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, and now bartending at The Thirsty Surfer, she’s done it all. Her love for people, good conversation, and this coastal community shines every time she steps behind the bar.

For Rhiannon, the best part of working in the restaurant industry is shaping vacation experiences for visitors. “Having someone come into our establishment knowing they’ve spent a lot of time and money to be here really makes me feel good. If a good drink helps make their vacation perfect, I’m all in!”

She loves meeting new faces and hearing their stories. Learning why families choose this little beach town for their yearly vacation makes every shift special. “Our local restaurants, bars, and boat businesses wouldn’t survive without tourists. We need them, and we’re so thankful for them,” she says.

For Rhiannon, it’s not all about the tips — it’s about connection and community. A heartfelt conversation with a guest can be the best reward of all. “Community is everything here,” she says with a smile.
