Find the beer and business aficionado running the day-to-day operations—backed by a team of talented brewers and bar keeps—and attending to the flocks of people popping into town—and in search of a locally crafted brew. “It’s a big tourist town,” said Cockrell. “It’s no secret people in this industry count a lot on tourism.”
Cockrell, a San Diego native, made the move to the area to be near family after nine years of serving in the military. The Fishtowne Brew House manager got his start in homebrewing by making beers with his father—and now he’s been able to turn his hobby into a career thanks to the droves of people visiting Beaufort and the Brew House each year.
“The town is charming,” noted Cockrell of Beaufort’s appeal. “It’s such a quaint place with so much history. … It’s also such a tight-knit group of people [here].”
